The MOT has been devised as a way to ensure our vehicle’s safety, both environmentally and mechanically. They allow us to certify our vehicles in these areas officially and it’s the garages responsibility to check various functions of your car in order to enable your car to be passed as road-worthy. MOTs are a yearly legal requirement but are only necessary, in most cases, for vehicles older than 3 years. There are various classes of MOT and we provide class 4 MOTs that cover cars, minibuses and smaller commercial vehicles such as vans and trucks. We’ve been certified by the RAC, the AA and the vehicle directorate so we’re officially able to carry out MOTs and we have decades of experience in doing so, throughout every change there has been to the test.
An MOT tests the mechanical elements of your car, like its seat belts, tyres and lights but also tests emissions. Our cars have to perform safely and efficiently and we test every required function with the due care and attention needed. We’ll take care of your car whilst performing the test and can advise you on the best course of action should there be any issues – either provisos for the next test or repairs required to pass your car.
If you have an older car you may be more worried about its MOT but the truth is, there is little to be done to make your car safe to drive and most cars do pass without major issue! An MOT is a yearly requirement but it is also advised that we service our cars every year or every 10,000 miles, whichever comes first, so it is often advised that customers combine an MOT with a service. This is more cost effective as we reduce the MOT price and we provide many service options alongside at varying price points.
As well as MOT and service bundles, we provide stand-alone services which cater to any vehicle. We deliver specialist services as well as the rudimental oil, spark plug and water. Our expertise in vehicle diagnostics in areas involving ECUs and onboard computing means we can cover advanced areas of vehicle servicing. We can diagnose service issues and validate them with roadside tests – for example, we can test your car’s ECU settings to ensure it is optimised.
We provide an oil and filter service which covers vehicles up to 2200cc. This deals with engine oil and fitting a new oil filter. Our second tier involves a top-up of all levels, a wiper check, brake check, lights, tyres and pressure, a road test and all brake pipes and pads. Our comprehensive, full service replaces oil and filters with new air filters or fuel filters for diesel engines, plugs, brake cleaning, washers, regrease and levels, wheel bearings, steering, suspension, joints and bushes as well as emissions and a road test.
From all of our service options, you can be sure of our high-quality approach which covers the full range of service options. We take care of the service and make necessary changes at your own discretion. Our prices are fixed in a tiered system which varies with engine size and this reflects the additional necessary actions we need to take to service larger, more complex cars and vehicles. Additional to all of our comprehensive, traditional service packages, we perform TerraClean engine cleaning which rids your engine of gunk building up from carbon deposits and other engine fuel additives. This can have a profound effect on your vehicle, positively affecting its fuel economy and compression.
